Király near Mád is, I believe, the highest in altitude among the vineyards in which Szepsy owns parcels; it's one of the most famous 1er Crus where some of his most aromatically complex and minerally-deep wines should be stemming from especially in the future... Black tea, dried apricot, pipe tobacco, quite malty milk chocolate, and some minerality, the latter most noticeable in direct comparison with the Nyulas. Highly concentrated, like a solid on the palate, but with very good vinosity... 97+ Points at release, a score I fear this will never live up to again."

"... Tasted at the Alsace Offline on May 9th, 2003... A little pipe tobacco, candied orange, highly concentrated prune juice core, quite spicy (maggis among other), some caramel and chestnut, very long. Even so, a minor amount of oak and rancio oxidation can be detected aromatically... With airing during the evening the pipe tobacco and orange rind notes got rather more pronounced, along with a top note of aged bee's wax... Delicious! ... Rating: 93 Points."

KIRÁLY-HEGY ...
... der "Königsberg", nahe Mád, wurde 1963 unter den acht bekanntesten Weinbergslagen des Tokajer Weingebietes geführt. Die Rebflurenklassifizierung stuft Király-hegy als erstklassig ein. Berühmte Adelige besaßen einst Parzellen in diesem Weinberg, darunter Fürst Esterházy, Graf Wolkenstein, Baron Zichy und Graf Batthyány. Auch Weine der Familie Andrássy wuchsen hier. Graf Georg Andrássy gründete den Tokaj Hegyalja Winzerverband im Jahre 1857, und veröffentlicht das berühmte Tokaj-Hegyaljai Album von 1867. Der Name "Király" wurde für Weinberge benutzt, die dem König gehörten. Weinberge mit dem Namen Király gibt es auch in Malá Trna (slowakische Seite), Tarcal, Mezözombor und Sárospatak.
