"Elegant in its golden honey appearance, a stimulating array of citrus zest, grilled apricots, tobacco and yeasty toast aromas fill the nose. Smoky spice, fresh herbs and spring wild flower flavors...balanced and spirited acidity...Try some classic French blues or other soft cheeses."

The Wine Report (Feb/Mar 2007)
"This opulent wine, with its honeyed apricot and resiny flavors, is layered with wood and spice, giving it extra life. It also has a hint of mocha—an earthiness that adds weight but not heaviness to the overall character. Poised and pretty, but also substantial."

Wine Enthusiast
"Less coffee here, with more caramel, tobacco and walnut notes. It tastes like higher alcohol too, lending weight and power, yet the sweetness and acidity are well-balanced. Fine, long, orange marmalade and mineral salt aftertaste."

Wine Spectator
"... this dark, ruddy Tokaji is monolithic, as rich, creamy and dense as a giant caramel. With time, notes of warm spice and cherries emerge. Drink it by the teaspoon, or tuck it away in the cellar for another 20 years."

Wine & Spirits
"First growth.Rich and complex on the palate with cooked fruit and a lovely cereal aroma. Excellent intensity and profundity. Has a sense of completeness that combines perfect structural balance and compressed fruit as well as a lush caramel aftertaste."

Jancis Robinson
"High-toned and balanced with long, lingering fruit and nut flavors and lively acidity."
