M. SCHEUERMANN, WEINCOMPASS 2000:
100 POINTS - exceptional vintage wine!

"We finished with a perfect wine, the 1993 Château Pajzos Esszencia from Hungary. It looked like motor oil, but the wine possessed such great acidity that everything was fresh, vibrant, and well-balanced. Marmalade, a liqueur of nuts, fruitcake, plum, and caramelized tropical fruit characteristics are all present in this deep amber-colored wine. Incredibly intoxicating from an aromatic point of view, this vibrant, well-focused, amazing wine proves the greatness of the finest wines of Tokaji. 100 points."
PARKER Hedonists' Gazette

"One of the world´s finest dessert wines. Sensational ultrasweet Tokaji, yet with a lovely citrus underpinning that keeps it from being heavy. Like melted honey, with lime and pineapple, this is one of those marvelous gems that makes you swoon in delight. Tempting now into the 21st century..."
WINE SPECTATOR, DECEMBER 1997:
99 POINTS!

"...A sensational Tokaji, ultrasweet without being heavy, this is the nec plus ultra of the region. Extremely rare...."
WINE SPECTATOR, DECEMBER 1998:
99 POINTS!

"...rich, dark brown hues with a dense, rich, orangey nose. Extremely luscious on the palate - more flavour than aroma - almost musically sweet with a confected style of sugar, great concentration, sweet, dense, oranges and spice with a critic prickle..."
DECANTER MAGAZINE, OCTOBER 1997:
THE BEST WHITE!

PAJZOS ...
... refers to a vineyard in Bodrogolaszi. The Pajzos winery cultivates around 70 hectares there. Most likely, the Pajzos vineyard is related to the wedding of Anna Pajzos of Sáros to a member of the Dókus family in 1899. They have been prominent vineyards owners in Hegyalja since the 17th century. Pajzos might have been created partly from the Dókus estates.
